Palek was an astronomical object inhabited by the Palekians and known for its hyperstorms. It was located in the Palek system, a star system in the Cyrillian Protectorate in the Expansion Region in grid square O-12 of the Standard Galactic Grid. In 85 BBY, the Jedi Padawan Sifo-Dyas visited Palek with his Master Lene Kostana, witnessing a hyperstorm and acquiring a crystal that appeared similar to kyber, which he gave to his friend Dooku upon returning to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant.
