Penegelen was a star located in the star system of the same name in the Inner Rim. It was orbited by a spherical cloud of debris known as the Penegelen Shards, which consisted of tumbling fragments of alloy, rock, and flash frozen dirt. Scientists believed that these shards once made up a shell which enclosed Penegelen. This shell was thought to have been a creation of an ancient species known as the Celestial.
