Pii system's second asteroid field

Legends Linked from 4 articles

Legends. This article is part of Legends: the expanded-universe stories that Lucasfilm set apart from canon in 2014.

The Pii system's second asteroid field was located in the Arkanis sector in the Slice portion of the Outer Rim Territories. The asteroid field orbited the Pii sun and lay between the system's fifth and sixth planets, respectively. It had poor mineral content, much like the system's first asteroid field. The outer asteroid field was larger, further spread-out, and more erratic than the first field. Like the rest of the Pii system, it lay a seven-day hyperspace journey away from the Perlemian Trade Route and along the Old Corellian Run and the Trans Gulf Route hyperlanes.

The asteroid field, along with the rest of the Pii system, was originally located on the super-hyperroute known as the Corellian Run. When that hyperspace route changed its course at some point between around 11,000 BBY and 4000 BBY, and as a result no longer ran through the Pii system, the asteroid field remained on the Old Corellian Run.
