Shikitari

Shikitari was a planet located somewhere within the Unknown Regions. In the world's lush jungle lived a rare subsentient species of insectoids that shared their name with their homeworld. Shikitari were born in clusters of eggs suspended in a poisonous protective gel that warded off predators. As the eggs hatched, the developing pupae fused together, growing into a single combined lifeform. The pupae developed a body structure that mimicked their guardian. However, this stage of their life cycle was extremely short, and the unified organism later became encased in a hardened chrysalis, from which emerged a dozen harmless creatures.
