Tho was one of two inhabitable moons—the other being Morlas—orbiting the planet Ribento in the Ribento system within the Quence sector. It was located in grid square O-19 of the Standard Galactic Grid, in the Outer Rim Territories and the Trailing Sectors.
In 229 BBY, the Nihil pirates attacked Ribento. Shortly after the Republic Defense Coalition starship Tractate exit from hyperspace in the system, it turned around to engage the marauders. The turn provided the crewmembers on the ship's bridge with a view of the system's astronomical objects, including Tho. Present on the bridge at that time, Jedi Knight Bell Zettifar mentally noted that the view was glorious despite being obstructed by debris of what he assumed to be outpost stations.
