Valera was an astronomical object located in the Valera system, a part of the Southern Core portion of the Colonies. At some point between 19 BBY and 3 ABY, an uprising against the Galactic Empire took place on Valera. Although the insurrection was quelled by the Imperial Star Destroyer Stalker under the command of Captain Akal Zed, the Imperial forces lost several support vessels during the fighting due to flawed planning on Zed's part.
