Zalso

Zalso was a planet located in the Core Worlds' Zalso system. The Human Kiras Torla, who graduated from the offworld Galactic Outdoor Survival School around 12 BBY and was middle-aged around 2 ABY, was native to Zalso. It was also the homeworld of Ral Shawgrim, a Human who was born at some point no earlier than 16 BBY aboard a luxury liner in the Outer Rim Territories' Tion Hegemony.

By approximately 1 ABY, a Rebel Alliance cell operated on Zalso. At some point by that date, Shawgrim's parents were employed there during the cor'tan season. Eventually, Galactic Empire soldiers killed them, which led to Shawgrim contacting the Zalso Rebel cell and becoming a member of the Alliance. Zalso's role in Shawgrim's biography was later noted by the New Republic General Airen Cracken in an entry of the datafile Wanted by Cracken—the initial version of which was published in 7 ABY—dedicated to Shawgrim.
