Toy line
Mini-Rigs
Canon Linked from 1 article
Mini-Rigs was a sub-set of Kenner's The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi toy lines. The small toy vehicles were offered at a lower price point than standard vehicles due to their small size. Besides the Mini-Rigs, Kenner also released three Body-Rigs.
The toys, initially designed by Mark Boudreaux, were meant to be vehicles "just out of sight" in the movies. Some made later appearances in the Expanded Universe. The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia refers to the PDT-8 Personnel Deployment Transport as a "mini rig", though the term was not applied to any other of those vehicles in fiction.
