The PDT-8 Personnel Deployment Transport was a small unarmed utility speeder that was usually automated. The repulsorlift craft ― categorized as a "mini rig" ― featured two open areas that could be used to transport people and cargo within or between installations, two large thrusters on its sides for propulsion, and a tripod mount to stabilize it on the ground.
Rebel Alliance personnel and droids, including Han Solo, R2-D2, C-3PO, FX-7, and 2-1B, utilized the craft on the planet Hoth during the Galactic Civil War.
