Barbed ginx

The Barbed Ginx was a relatively harmless, curious amphibian that frequented Makeb's marshes. They were first discovered by scientist Dep Aila on Makeb when he found the creatures surrounding his speeder having pulled the exterior casing off in search of food. The "barbed" in their name refers to the barbed "thumb" which allows them to peel bark from trees or fallen logs when foraging for insects. Ginx have a genetic relation to the more aggressive Vrakes. A dark green variety of Swamp Ginx was common amid the Endless Swamp of the planet Zakuul. The species was also prominent on the fourth moon of Yavin. Some of them were also present on the Chiss world of Copero.

The small Ginx were of a relatively harmless nature, the large Ginx were aggressive. Ginx could be trained by a skilled handler to perform some tasks.
