Capupi fly

Capupi flies were a species of insect found on the Outer Rim Territories planet Akiva. They were important pollinators on the planet. Capupi flies would secrete a type of oil after ingesting the flowers of the asuka trees that was considered quite valuable for its supposed ability to let people see into the future. Despite asuka tree flowers being their meal of choice the flies could sometimes be found inside of kurado fruit also found on Akiva.

In 3 ABY, the scoundrel Kay Vess and her Merqaal companion Nix share a kurado fruit platter at the Zian street food stall in Myrra. When the cooking droid cut open the fruit for the pair, several Capupi flies flew out from the fruit. Nix enjoyed eating the flies.
