Garqi vert-mites were a type of mite that partially shared its name with Garqi, an agriworld in the Cassandran Worlds. In 19 ABY, Imperial commandos Chik Apla and Chala Venan prepared to sabotage the Wedding of Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade on the planet Coruscant. When caught hiding in nearby foliage by an employee of the venue, the pair claimed they were spraying for Garqi vert-mites inadvertently brought into the gardens by a tourist. After expounding on how they felt the creatures were fast and annoying due to the mite-dust they left behind, the employee believed their claims and left.
