The Ghormans, or the Ghor for short, were a cultural group of Humans from the Colonies planet Ghorman.
Most of the Ghor were dedicated to the silk and twill industry and took great pride in their culture and language, as well as the geography of their planet, as demonstrated in their planetary anthem, We Are the Ghor.
In 4 BBY The Galactic Empire's Ministry of Enlightenment began to a campaign to turn galactic public opinion against the Ghormans by depicting them as a prideful, arrogant people. This media campaign was part of the Empire's overall efforts to suppress the Ghor in order to ease Imperial occupation of their planet, which had been targeted by Project Celestial Power. By 2 BBY the Imperial campaign against the Ghormans led to the Empire carrying out genocide against the Ghorman people in order to carry out the gouge-mining of the planet.
