Gree (species)

The Gree were a little-known alien species with tentacles who were native to the Gree system of the Gree Enclave in the Outer Rim Territories. They also shared their name with the Outer Rim astronomical object Gree. Like the Aing-Tii, the Gree exhibited neural activity that greatly resembled the motion and reactions of the plasma within ancient wayfinders.

After developing an early interest in alien species, the Clone Commander designated CC-1004 chose to nickname himself Gree upon completion of his advanced training on the planet Kamino. His hope was that he could identify others who shared his interests by provoking a reaction to his nickname, as anyone who recognized the name of the obscure Gree species was likely interested in exobiology.
