A leatherwing was an avian creature found on the planet Ord Mantell. Leatherwings had dull, black eyes and huge, membranous wings. Leatherwings would on occasion fly to the southern part of Ord Mantell for warmer air, and were too small to cause a sensor blip on a starship.
