The snow falcons were avian creatures native to the frigid planet Rhinnal, where they built eyries within glaciers.

During the Galactic War, the endangered snow falcons of Rhinnal were considered a rare and prized delicacy, worth a small fortune to those willing to risk life imprisonment by hunting them. These creatures became extinct prior to the rule of the New Republic. The Holographic Zoo of Extinct Animals on the Core Worlds planet Coruscant dedicated an exhibition in honor of the extinct snow falcon, which gained widespread popularity among visitors.
