A spike-sparrow was a type of sparrow that could be found on the Outer Rim world Elphrona during the High Republic Era. By 232 BBY, a spike-sparrow killed all but one member of a charhound pack on Elphrona. The survivor—a female puppy named Ember—then fought the spike-sparrow, ultimately crawling away from the fight. Around 228 BBY, Ember mentally recalled her fight with the spike-sparrow after it had killed her pack when she reflected on her life while on the Wild Space planet Sophros.
