The veeka was a type of red-plumed bird that was native to the planet Dathomir. The meat of the species was edible by Dathomirians and Kiffar.
In 19 BBY, while on Dathomir and camping near the modified Lancer-class pursuit craft Banshee, the Dathomirian former Sith Asajj Ventress and the Kiffar Jedi Quinlan Vos ate medium-sized veekas. After Ventress returned from the wilderness with two of the birds for dinner, the two plucked and spitted them, which released an appetizing scent into the air.
