During the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Separatist General Grievous used a Providence-class Dreadnought. The dreadnought participated in a battle near the planet Patitite Pattuna with the Venator-class Star Destroyer flagship of Jedi General Adi Gallia in the second year of the war, where it was accompanied by two Munificent-class star frigates.
