During the Battle of Hoth, the Galactic Empire deployed a transport to the far side of a ridge overlooking Echo Base in an attempt to flank the Alliance to Restore the Republic forces. Deploying a stormtrooper company supported by five All Terrain Scout Transports, the force was stopped in a narrow pass by four squads of foot soldiers and three snowspeeders.
