A model of Mon Calamari cruiser was used by the Alliance Navy during the Galactic Civil War, a pan-galactic conflict between the Alliance to Restore the Republic and the Galactic Empire. The warship was capable of traveling in space via engines. It had bulbous yet slim features, with a thin protrusion at the rear.
Shortly prior to the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY, the Alliance gathered its forces in the Sullust system in a staging area to launch its attack on the Empire's DS-2 Death Star II Mobile Battle Station, located in the Moddell sector in orbit of the Forest Moon of Endor. At least one Mon Calamari cruiser of this type was present in addition to a wide variety of warships shortly prior to the fleet jumping into hyperspace to commence the battle.
