The Valiant class was an Imperial cruiser that saw service within the Imperial Navy during the Galactic Civil War. In about 0 BBY, the Valiant was dispatched to the Circarpous system accompanied by another cruiser and a Star Destroyer, where the three vessels ambushed the YT-1300 light freighter Millennium Falcon near to the star Circarpous Major. Commander Corsa—an Imperial officer who served aboard the Valiant—hailed the freighter and ordered the ship to stand down and prepare to be boarded. However, the Falcon took evasive action and successfully avoided capture by the Imperials.
