Alliance communications encoder

The Alliance communications encoder was a standard piece of communications equipment used primarily by vessels operating as Alliance privateers. Also in use by most regular Alliance military units, the communications encoder was used to encrypt transmissions for broadcast to make it harder to understand if the message was intercepted. For communications encoders aboard privateer vessels, the unit broadcast Code quasar, identifying the ship as being a ship under the Rebellion's letter of marque and reprisal.
