Aural amplifier

The aural amplifier was a device worn on the head, which allowed the wearer to hear from a great distance by amplifying sound waves originating from the direction of the wearer's interest while dampening ambient noise. The creation of aural amplifiers marked a change in Durkish Corporation's policy, as they abandoned visual detection entirely in favor of aural. They justified this shift under the premise that while stealth field generators could deceive vision, they could not hide the sound of most species' respiration.
