A Bomber Trap was a type of Starship Trap utilized by both the Alliance to Restore the Republic and the Galactic Empire to defend their territory on planets like Tatooine. These circular devices serve as a proximity sensor when initially set, switching to a homing beacon once their sensor has been tripped. Faction bombers were then called to blanket the area surrounding the trap with bombs for a short period of time, obliterating enemies. Bomber Traps also featured a holoprojector, displaying the type of starship they would call in, with Alliance traps contacting BTL Y-wing starfighters while Imperial traps contacted TIE/sa bombers.
