Capacitor

A capacitor or power capacitor was a device used in the galaxy to store energy. Capacitors were used in a variety of machines, including weapons, starships, and even droids.

The scientist Galen Walton Erso hoped to generate outbursts of raw power that could be harvested and stored in capacitors for use on worlds in need. Capacitors were also used in droids like B1-series battle droids. In these models of battle droids their capacitors were a weak point, and clone snipers could hit between the droid's capacitors to take out the unit. The ends of electrostaffs contained a discharge capacitor. Shortly after the rise of the Galactic Empire, the Bad Batch had their ship's capacitor stolen by an Ordo Moon Dragon.

In 3 ABY, ND-5 gave a power capacitor to Kay Vess after she recovered a stolen artifact for the Ashiga Clan from their rivals Crimson Dawn. Vess used the capacitor to create a powerful blaster module for her VM-19 heavy blaster pistol.
