Collision detector

A collision detector, also known as a collision alarm, collision avoidance system, or collision monitor, was a type of safety device and sensor hardwired into a starship or vehicle to alert the operator of an imminent impact. The devices were common in most vehicles; though they were banned from being incorporated into Podracers in many race series. Frowned upon by veteran racers, they were often times referred to derisively as "electronic nannies." They were also used in Adumari starfighters.
