The cone sock was a chemical-based garment created by the Gotal entrepreneur Alyn Rae and a group of scientists by around 29 ABY. Cone socks were designed to be worn over the sensitive receptor cones atop a Gotal's head in order to block out irritating electromagnetic signals caused by droids or types of technology. They were expensive and initially only worn by wealthy Gotals, but their practicality saw them grow in popularity.
