Fear Engine

The Fear Engine was a device used by the Nihil Child of the Storm Sister H'Tar that boosted her Fallanassi Force abilities and caused individuals within its range to see illusions of their fears. H'Tar deployed the Fear Engine in the Nihil-Occupied Theed Royal Palace on Naboo when members of the Tempest Breakers guild attempted to infiltrate it. H'Tar used another Fear Engine, equipped aboard the Nihil starship Squall Spider during the Battle of Eriadu.

Use of the Fear Engine by H'Tar was compulsory; despite the immense pain it inflicted upon her, she was physically unable to extricate herself from it nor able to stop it from casting nightmares once activated. While connected to the Fear Engine, H'Tar maintained some autonomy, however, using it and her powers to project an apparition of herself onto the Republic Longbeam Gios to ask for former Child of the Storm Cibaba to help her escape.
