The fingerprint masque was a device used to fool biometric fingerprint scanners.
Consisting of a thin, liquid-crystal biometric screen applied to the fingertip, the fingerprint masque created a random or known fingerprint pattern. Advanced masques could be embedded with false DNA in order to circumvent sophisticated biometric scanners and readers.
