The heavy assault blaster rifle was a large blaster rifle. It was designed to give a single person enough firepower to take out a whole squad of enemies. It was restricted to military use under Imperial law.
The heavy assault blaster rifle operated in autofire-only mode, that is, it fired multiple shots in rapid succession at a greater area but at the cost of accuracy.
Imperial Intelligence agent Morrigan Corde carried a heavy assault blaster rifle on difficult missions, such as when she broke in to the Sith Temple on Coruscant to rescue Cade Skywalker.
