Identifying code

Canon Legends version → Linked from 2 articles

An identifying code, also referred to as an identifying number, or as a birth number, was employed by the Grand Army of the Republic to identify and distinguish different clone troopers. It was inserted into a trooper's left wrist and could link droids, such as astromechs, to a particular trooper's military records in the GAR database. During the early era of the Galactic Empire, all Clone X troopers had their identifying markings removed from all databases.
