The kal was a short dagger used by Mandalorians. It was typically wielded in one's off hand as an accompaniment to the beskad sword. The kal, forged of beskar, consisted of a hexagonal blade with a rectangular cutout along its center. The hilt was bare metal and had no crossguard, though the notch where the blade met the hilt did provide some protection for the user's hand. While not as deadly as the beskad, the kal was still a formidable weapon in the hands of a skilled user.
