A kinetic capacitor was a type of capacitor that harnessed the momentum from starship maneuvers to increase the velocity of ship mounted laser cannons. The capacitor was developed in the Outer Rim Territories sometime before 3 ABY.
In 3 ABY, Kay Vess was awarded a number of kinetic capacitors by the Miyuki Trade League after completing a smuggling contract for them.
