Lava reactor core

A lava reactor core was a type of reactor which harnessed magma to produce energy. At some point, Bri-Phrang City, located on the planet Eriadu, was built on top of a volcano by ancestors of Emelsine and Sevran Tarkin. These early Tarkins harnessed the energy produced by the reactor to power both Bri-Phrang and the nearby Eriadu City.

During the High Republic Era, in 232 BBY, the Nihil pirates bombed Bri-Phrang, fracturing the reactor core. After becoming the family's head, Sevran Tarkin began to help secretly repair the reactor core as the slightest disturbance or explosion could cause it to collapse, spelling apocalyptic doom for the entire region.

During the Battle of Eriadu in 228 BBY, members of the Jedi Order attempted to stabilize the reactor as threat of a bombardment by Nihil General Abediah Viess's fleet loomed. Following a security breach through the compromised proprietor of the Arkorayal Cabaret Cantina, the Nihil commander known as "The Warden" learned about the reactor core's instability. Becoming cornered during the battle, he sent his forces to attack the Arkorayal in an attempt to ensure his enemies suffered. In response, the Republic and Jedi forces began a desperate civilian evacuation of Bri-Phrang and Eriadu City. As the Warden attempted a fatal nosedive towards the Arkorayal to try and breach its deflector shield, Jedi Knight Farzala Tarabal used an old laser cannon to wipe out the Warden's starship, saving the reactor core and region from annihilation.
