LX-4 proton mine

LX-4 proton mines were a model of proton mine produced by Merr-Sonn Munitions, Inc. They were retrofitted versions of the explosive warheads that Merr-Sonn used in its LX-4 proton torpedos, which the company manufactured and supplied simultaneously during the reign of the Galactic Empire.

The manifest for the Imperial All Terrain Armored Transport Hellhound Two listed it as carrying twenty-five LX-4 mines when it was deployed on the desert planet Jakku during the battle the Empire fought against the New Republic there in 5 ABY. The walker was destroyed during the battle, and the scavenger Rey later moved into its wreckage, discovering the manifest but never locating any of the mines or learning what became of its crew. She noted this on a blueprint of the walker that she included in her survival guide by 34 ABY, writing that she hoped the mines were not armed and buried somewhere around her home.
