A merqaal corsair was a type of purple hat that included a black and green beaded necklace. Around 3 ABY, the thief Kay Vess and her merqaal companion, Nix, disguised themselves as pirates with the Rokana Raiders in order to inflitate the group's base located in the Wild Space Khepi system. Nix's disquised consisted of the merqaal corsair.
