MSE-5

The MSE-5 was an experimental model of general, multi-purpose droid manufactured as part of the MSE series by Rebaxan Columni, a company based on the Chadra-Fan homeworld of Chad. Both the MSE-5 and the also experimental MSE-4 were inspired by the chak-chak, a small, six-limbed rodent native to Chad.

The executives of Rebaxan Columni were so confident in the chak-chak-inspired series that they created billions of units of the MSE-6 series repair droid for the galactic market without even researching the reaction to the MSE-5 or MSE-5, which resulted in the company nearly going bankrupt when their potential customers were unconvinced by the idea of purchasing a mechanical rat. The Galactic Empire then purchased the remaining stock of MSE-6s.
