Newsnet terminals were public terminals that were used to access local news networks. They could be found in public places such as starport waiting lounges or along public streets in busy city sectors. They could either display news items in a typographical fashion on a computer screen or project a hologrammic image of a news presenter, who would deliver an audio report.
