A particle stability converter was a particle accelerator that less dense but more volatile particles. When used in a blaster it resulted in blaster bolts having an increased explosive radius on impact. By 3 ABY, the a merchant with the Pyke Syndicate offered a prototype of the converter for sale to trusted associates of the syndicate from the Pyke Crystal Mine on the planet Akiva.
In 3 ABY, the scoundrel Kay Vess purchased the particle stability converter prototype for 1300 credits which she later used to the modify her VM-19 heavy blaster pistol's blast module.
