Projected energy shield

A projected energy shield was a type of personal energy shield used extensively by the Night Wind assassins. Used to box in opponents and protect the wearer in melee combat, projected energy shields were vambrace-like forearm-mounted emitters that projected a large red-colored energy shield. These shields emitted electric shocks when touched, and were capable of withstanding physical and energy attacks; a projected energy shield could absorb the blast from a point blank wrist rocket. Projected energy shields could be overwhelmed and deactivated if they took enough damage, but could also be reactivated after a short time.
