Legends. This article is part of Legends: the expanded-universe stories that Lucasfilm set apart from canon in 2014.

The RC-AD was a model of repulsorlift-equipped riot control droids designed to operate as heavy security guards and was one of the more potent assets utilized by the Republic Correctional Authority. As such, it saw deployment in prisons such as the notorious asteroid prison on Oovo IV, where its capabilities to operate in the absence of gravity and atmosphere proved to be an asset to patrol beyond the boundaries of the prison walls.

To perform its duties, the RC-AD is well armored and equipped with a pair of high-powered pulse cannnons flanking its sides as its primary armament. Onboard complex sensor array allows the droid to detect disturbances within the prison, as well as track down would-be escapees. Additionally, while it can operate fully autonomously, the droid can also be controlled remotely.
