Thunderbolt Shock Prod

The Thunderbolt Shock Prod was a type of shock prod produced by SoroSuub Corporation. A nearly two meter solid alloy staff, the weapon had an insulated, two-handed grip on one end and sharp prongs on the other that generated an arc of powerful, non-lethal electricity able to tame a krayt dragon.

Infamous throughout the galaxy, the Thunderbolt had a mixed reputation as a brutal melee weapon symbolic of rural agricultural life and oppressive regimes. Favored by planetary security forces and slavers, the Thunderbolt was used to herd thick-skinned creatures and, on occasion, sentient beings. Able to induce crippling pain, the shock prod allowed riot police to disperse violent crowds in minutes, its noisy electrical shock incapacitating even determined rioters.

After 0 BBY, during the Galactic Civil War, a conflict waged by the Rebellion against the Galactic Empire, the Thunderbolt Shock Prod sold for 875 credits.
