Baasen Ray was a male Mirialan smuggler and a one-time partner of Han Solo before the Battle of Yavin. After Solo joined the Rebel Alliance, Ray became a bounty hunter and pursued the bounty placed on Solo's head by Jabba the Hutt. In 2 ABY, Ray tracked down Solo, but joined forces with him to stop the Galactic Empire from obtaining the hyperspace nullifier superweapon designed by the extinct K'kybak species. Ray ultimately sacrificed his life to save Solo during a fight with the Imperial astrocartographer Essio Galassian on Seymarti V.
