Bosnok was a Gallusian with a knack for numbers. He spent the greater part of his life drifting though the galaxy doing quick jobs with fast payment. Bosnok became proficient at counting cards in the card game Sabacc, though after picking the wrong table, he was quickly arrested and became a prisoner of the Galactic Empire during the Imperial Era. Imperial Governor Thorden saw a use for Bosnok's knack for numbers and put the Gallusian to work managing the records of his shady dealings on the Outer Rim moon Toshara. Bosnok was eventually transferred aboard Fuel Station Visavi in orbit over Tosahra where he continued his work for the Governor at the space station's data vault.
In 3 ABY, Bosnok met Kay Vess, a thief who was hired to erase records stored in the data vault. Recognizing her as an intruder, Bosnok agreed to erase the data for Vess if she helped him escape. The pair made their way through the station and eventually escaped it using the Trailblazer, Vess' EML-850 light freighter. In order to remain free, Bosnok offered his services and information on Thorden to a crime syndicate operating in the Tosharan city Mirogana. Bosnok went on to run a sabacc table at Kaslo's Sabacc Parlor in Mirogana. Later that year, Bosnok helped Vess disrupt the Governor's plans to develop a weapon using cyphrite and Tolium gas.
