Buccel Trune was a human male who fought alongside the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War and later became the father of the New Republic Security Bureau officer Sela Trune. In 4 ABY, Trune alerted the Mon Calamari Admiral Gial Ackbar about an assassination attempt on Mon Mothma. After the Battle of Endor, Trune witnessed and informed Agent Calder Behrens that the Spice Runners of Kijimi have allied with Grand Moff Ubrik Adelhard. At some point, Trune later lived at a farm on the planet Yungbrii. He was often stoic and distant, but Trune felt that he had moments of warmth. Less than a month after Trune joined the New Republic, her father, along with her mother and brother Gaithel, were killed in the crossfire of a skirmish between New Republic officers and members of the Spice Runners of Kijimi.
