Dandamont Pring

Dandamont Pring was a Human male who served as Imperial consul-general on the Bothan homeworld of Bothawui during the Galactic Civil War.

The Empire assigned him on the planet to coordinate all Imperial Intelligence activities in the system. In practice however he didn't wish to be involved, waiting for his staff to tell him when a matter required his full attention; outside some briefings from his staff, he preferred to savor the joys coming with his prestigious office. He thew numerous, lavish parties and soirees in the Imperial Consulate, with exotic foods, expensive wines and musicians. The parties served in showing the benevolent face of the Empire, as Pring wanted to seem an ambassador of good-will.

As a means of security, Pring ordered Lieutenant Commander Janna Tammok to deliberately plant false information, hoping to reach any Bothan or Rebel spies.

He intended for his daughter, Praleena, to marry the Captain of the Dismay. He organized another opulent soiree to make the announcement of the engagement, scheduling for his daughter to depart the next day for the wedding. He didn't know that Praleena disliked the captain and had a secret affair with a minor bureaucrat of his estate, and that they both intended to defect to the Rebel Alliance. The extraction ruined the soiree right after the announcement, and the very presence of Praleena among the Rebels (disguised as trade delegates) aided their escape. He dismissed the incident as young love, claiming that his daughter would return once she thought things through.
