The Imperial captain of the Star Destroyer Dismay once intended to marry Praleena Pring, the daughter of Imperial Consul-General Dandamont Pring of the planet Bothawui. However, Praleena, who did not wish to marry the smug captain.
Pring planned to announce the engangement during one of his opulent parties, with plans for her to leave for the Dismay the next day for the wedding. The Star Destroyer was in Bothawui's orbit and its officers attented the party. When Pring ordered the orchestra to stop, the Captain made his way to the stage for the announcement. On his way he tapped a stranger on the shoulder to get past them; he never learned that it was an Rebel operative who attempted to invite Praleena to defect.
Indeed, the young Pring had no desire for such a wedding. Thanks to the operatives, she defied her father and left with her lover. While the Captain did not learn that Pring defected to the Rebel Alliance, he was not happy with the development. The Consul-General dismissed the incident as young love, claiming that his daughter would return once she thought things through.
