Duja was a human female who was a close friend and former handmaiden of Senator Padmé Amidala of Naboo. She helped Amidala decipher an unintelligible communication from an angry ambassador (a potential diplomatic crisis) realizing the ambassador had not liked the way Padmé pronounced the name of a fellow ambassador. She was murdered by assassins sent by Separatist Duke Solha while investigating the duke's droid factory. Amidala later recited a poem to remember her.
