Karbin

Karbin was a Mon Calamari commander born on the planet Mon Cala in the Outer Rim and a member of the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars. Towards the end of the conflict, his starship was damaged, causing him considerable and untreatable injuries. After the incident, Karbin spent the next eighteen years on life support, the final two of which he spent being enhanced with a cybernetic body inspired by that of the late General Grievous by Doctor Cylo and trained to replace Darth Vader, Darth Sidious' Sith apprentice, serving the Galactic Empire.

After the Battle of Yavin, Karbin participated in a brutal trial arranged by Cylo and Sidious, where the cybernetically enhanced candidates were forced to prove their worth. Although he demonstrated impressive skill, Karbin's desire to replace Darth Vader ultimately led him into a deadly confrontation with the Sith Lord on Vrogas Vas. His pursuit of Rebel hero Luke Skywalker, who was responsible for the destruction of the Death Star, placed him on a collision course with Vader, and despite his advanced cybernetics and multiple lightsabers, Karbin discovered that raw power was no match for Vader's mastery of the Force. After being defeated and severely damaged, the former Mon Calamari commander was executed by Vader, becoming another failed contender in the Emperor's search for a successor. His remains were later brought before Darth Sidious, a final reminder of the danger faced by those who sought to replace the Dark Lord of the Sith.
